Demand Attorney General Jeff Sessions rescind the May 10th memo on guidance to federal prosecutors to seek harsher penalties for drug crimes. Urge him to work towards fairer sentencing and drug policies.
On May 10, 2017, Attorney General Jeff Sessions issued a Department of Justice Memo to federal prosecutors that will escalate the destructive war on drugs, exacerbate racial disparities, and soar the prison population. His actions will increase costs to taxpayers and make all of our communities less safe.
We Must #StopSessions
We are joining the Justice Roundtable, The Sentencing Project, the Koch Network, Families Against Mandatory Minimums (FAMM), and several other organizations in efforts to #StopSessions from bringing back the harmful Drug War that decimated millions of families and did little to address drug addiction across our nation.
Republicans and Democrats agree Attorney General Sessions’ decision to ramp up the War on Drugs is a threat to public safety, public health, and scarce public resources.
